QVC has nothing on Central Elementary! Starting in February a new installment plan will be introduced ($25 per month for 4 months) in order to allow more families to participate in the purchase of a paver for a family member or loved one. Watch the backpacks for more details or contact Nikki Hajer at nikkihajer@gmail.com.

You can download the installment plan flier here as a PDF.

Five families who made donations to the Playground through the purchase of engraved pavers were inadvertently left out of the Playground Donor book:

  • Michael & Maddalena Flight
  • Joel & Lisa Hastings
  • Greg & Michelle Hruska
  • Thomas & Kim Jacobs
  • Jim & Cathy Louthen

Our apologies to these families, and many thanks for their generous contributions to the playground!

Yes, we know: Roadrunner is incorrectly spelled Roadunner on the playground sign. The Grounds for Play Company has sent a replacement for the misspelled sign on the train engine, and the sign will be replaced before school starts. Thanks for bringing it to our attention.

photo of new playground being installedAt last, the new playground is here! There are still a few finishing touches to be added, but it looks great. Unfortunately, the playground will not open for business before school starts (until the new grass and landscaping is established). Please drive by and see the results of months of planning. Thanks for all your support.

We would like to thank everyone for their generous contributions and paver purchases. We recently sold our 200th paver, and the total number of pavers purchased as of right now is 212. Thanks to you, we’ve reached our fundraising goal and the new playground equipment will be installed this summer.

Special thanks also go to Lisa Vais and Lisa Veon for their work on the playground committee and to Nancy Hopkins for her work on the paver fundraiser.

In case you haven’t already seen them, you will find updated drawings for the playground equipment on the website here.

And, if you’ve been following the paver countdown on the website, you will find that the secret message is revealed right here. Please have your speakers on, but not too loud.

Thanks and have a great Memorial Day.

Thanks to Ingrid Lulich and Dorie Skiest who are coordinating the sale of wristbands (”Central Kids Can” & “Riverside Rocks” in a variety of colors) with all proceeds benefiting the playground fund. If you are interested in purchasing wristbands ($3.00 each or 2 for $5.00), please contact Ingrid Lulich (see Central directory for phone number.) The kids who have purchased these are thrilled with them! Your child would be delighted to own one or more and you would be helping them get that much closer to playing on new playground equipment in the fall!
