Please Visit the New PTO Website

Published on September 8, 2008

With our recent change from PTA to PTO, we’ve created a new website at www.centralptonews.org. (Note the O instead of an A).

This PTA website will remain accessible for a while as we move the relevant content to the new PTO website. For anything related to the 2008/2009 school year, please visit the new website.

Thanks,

New PTO Website for 2008

Published on September 8, 2008

With the recent change from PTA to PTO, we took the opportunity to redesign the website. In the coming weeks, we’ll be modifying and posting relevant content from the old PTA website to this new PTO website (things like the Accelerated Reader list, Cultural Arts reference material, Bylaws and other PTO-related documents, etc.)

A special Thank You goes out to Janan Cain for providing us with the beautiful Roadrunner graphic you see above.

We’ll also be incorporating into the website many of the suggestions you’ve submitted over the past three years. If you have any further feedback or comments, please feel free to send an email to webmaster@centralptonews.org.

Thanks,

Summer break is here with swimming, riding bikes, camps, sunshine, relaxing and fun! I hope your summer is off to a great beginning! My belief is the more informed we are as Central School parents, the better!

I had the opportunity to attend the June 17, 2008 D96 Board of Education meeting and thought I would share some agenda items.

  • The District 96 Offices will move their offices this summer to Mater Christi in North Riverside to help clear some space for additional classrooms at Hauser.
  • Increasing proof of residency checks being considered.
  • A temporary class size change for the D96 08/09 Kindergarten class to 23 students has been approved by the BOE to accommodate the large incoming class.

If you want to continue to be informed, I’d encourage you to attend the next 96 Board of Education Meeting scheduled for Tuesday, August 19, 2008, 7:30pm, Hauser Learning Resource Center.

If you have any questions that you think I may be able to answer, please feel free to email me at marrymelon@sbcglobal.net.

Enjoy your summer!
Mary Ellen Meindl, Central PTA/PTO 08/09 President
