Friday, May 4 from 8:00 - 8:25 we need parent supervision of students in the halls of Central so the children can come in early to write on the teacher’s posters. e-mail Allyn Pilewski at apilewski237@comcast.net if you are able to help;

Friday, May 4 from 1:30 - 3:30 meet in the Multi Purpose Room to help with decorating;

Also still needed for our Daily Delights Party for the Teachers and Staff at lunch are
3 Big Bags Frozen Berries
4 boxes microwave popcorn
3 quarts strawberries
4 dozen wooden skewers
If you are able to contribute any of these items, please e-mail Kim Jacobs at filerjacobs@hotmail.com.

. . .and we are still collecting donations for our daily drawing of cool prizes and gifts. Thank you if you have already donated a gift for our drawing or a donation of food for our daily delights!

Traffic Study - We Need Your Help

The District 96 traffic study is underway. The study is intended to give traffic consultants hired by District 96 the information needed to make recommendations on improvements in traffic flow and safety. The next step is to count traffic and pedestrians outside Central both before and after school. Using parent volunteers for this important task will save the district $8,000.

Between now and May 4th, we need volunteers to make these counts. The counts can be made on any school day this week or next week. The shifts are either 8:00 to 8:40 am or 2:55 to 3:25 pm. Each volunteer will be given very specific instructions about counting either pedestrians, through traffic, or drop-off/pick-up traffic.

Please contact Central PTA’s liaison, Robin Benoy, at benoymrbn@yahoo.com if you are able to be a part of this very important study. Again, you choose the day that works for you, as long as it is done by May 4.

Thank you!

Error in March PTA Minutes

We apologize for an error in the March PTA minutes. We incorrectly stated in the minutes that all children registered to date would have a spot in kindergarten enrichment. The correct statement would have been that all students who registered for kindergarten and expressed a preference for morning or afternoon kindergarten would be able to attend the session of their choice (with one exception, a Hollywood parent who requested afternoon kindergarten, which is not being offered at Hollywood).

To date, 34 Central families have requested kindergarten enrichment. A decision about kindergarten enrichment will not be made until later in the spring.

The Garden Gurus Committee would like to invite all interested gardeners to help with the annual spring clean-up of the Central School landscape. Please meet outside the school this Friday, April 20, at 8:30 am. Bring your rakes, shovels, pruners, and of course your gardening gloves. If by chance it is raining that day, we will reschedule. Thank you in advance for your help! For more information contact Jennie Straka at rslamp@earthlink.net.
