Author/Illustrator David Shannon, Caldecott Medal Honor winner, will make a presentation to District 96 students on March 7 in the Hauser Auditorium. He will be “spinning yarns” from his latest book, Pirates Don’t Change Diapers. Born in Washington, D.C., Shannon grew up in Spokane, Washington. The Magic Tree Bookstore in Oak Park is sponsoring Shannon’s presentation, along with the opportunity to purchase his books, with 20% of the sales to be used for purchasing new books for District 96 libraries.
