Guest Speaker, Candace Grace addressed the audience, asking our consideration to support the Village of Riverside’s Tunnel Referendum for $4,000,000 to repair and rebuild the Railroad Underpass. She explained why it cost so much and $300,000 of that would make it ADA accessible. She also spoke briefly of a 2009 Proposal for a Youth/Community Center.

1st VP Lisa Aulerich-Marciniak 1st thanked (for Nancy Hopkins): Leslie Kovacevic, Michelle Hejna and Patrick O’ Laughlin for hosting Parent Fall Night. Thank you also to Maddalena Flight for the Wrapping Paper Sale and Kathy Dudek and Jennifer Sedivy for Fall Family Night.

Allyn Pilewski would like to head up a steering committee to have the Polling Place moved out of all schools in the district. She spoke to Dr. Lamberson and he said it was not a district decision. He suggested that concerned parents look for alternative polling places in the community. A safety meeting is set for December 4, 2006.

1st Vice Presidents Lisa Aulerich-Marciniak and Allyn Pilewski reported that there were 189 PTA Members and new member applications are still coming in. Allyn said that they would like to contact the Golden Agers a senior group in town, to see if there is any interest of starting a community outreach program.

Principals Report: Dr. Lamperis thanked the PTA for the classroom stipends.

A note was sent home from First Grade Teacher, Mrs. Skaggs, regarding safety at the first door, regarding drop off and pick up. A Hauser Student was hit by a car, reminding parents to follow the procedures of rolling drop offs and to pick students up curbside not to call students into the street to enter their cars. She asked parents to move away from the T in the main sidewalk so children would not have to walk into the street to get around parents gathering and socializing.

She suggested that if parents wanted to socialize, to cross the street and socialize on the other side to eliminate congestion at the school entranceways where students line up.

Safety study on December 4th.

No Math Olympiad Program this year, due to the cost of test preparation. She thanked the PTA again for the playground, and informed the PTA that the Playground Bell Clapper is in her office.
