200th Paver Sold - Happy Memorial Day

We would like to thank everyone for their generous contributions and paver purchases. We recently sold our 200th paver, and the total number of pavers purchased as of right now is 212. Thanks to you, we’ve reached our fundraising goal and the new playground equipment will be installed this summer.

Special thanks also go to Lisa Vais and Lisa Veon for their work on the playground committee and to Nancy Hopkins for her work on the paver fundraiser.

In case you haven’t already seen them, you will find updated drawings for the playground equipment on the website here.

And, if you’ve been following the paver countdown on the website, you will find that the secret message is revealed right here. Please have your speakers on, but not too loud.

Committee Chairs Needed

Thanks to everyone who has volunteered to chair or serve on a PTA committee next year. We have two Chair positions still available:

Brick Paver Fundraiser

Engraved pavers will be sold next year. The fundraiser will run for approximately 3 weeks in the spring. This is a one-person job that includes distribution of a flyer/order form, submission of the forms to the engraving company, and contacting the installer to have the new bricks placed in the walkway.

Publicity Flyers

This is a one-person job (although it could be shared) that includes creation of flyers, upon request of event chairs; advertising PTA meetings and events; and distribution (to the teachers’ mailboxes) of the reminder flyers for the monthly PTA meeting. Flyers are also posted on the website, so computer access is needed, and access to clipart is a plus.

4th of July Pizza Booth Volunteers Needed

I am in need of volunteers and to borrow three long tables and one canopy (10′x10′) for this event. If you have any interest, please post a comment below. Also, please indicate if you can provide a long table or if you can provide a canopy. The sign-up sheet will also be passed around at the next PTA meeting on Tuesday June 6th.

Central Gardeners Needed This Thursday

On Thursday, May 18, the “Garden Gurus” of Central School will be cleaning up the flower beds. All interested gardeners are invited to participate.
