New Newsletter Service [FeedBlitz]

Today we switched to a new service for managing newsletter subscriptions called FeedBlitz. The Central PTA Newsletter will now be mailed to you by FeedBlitz, and it will be created automatically from postings on the website. No more manual editing. Anything that appears on the PTA website will automatically be added to the next newsletter.

Anyone who provided an email address when they joined the PTA is automatically signed up for the digest version of the newsletter. This means that updates will be sent only occasionally, and updates will be saved up for one big mailing. Updates can also be sent to your email on a daily basis if you like. If there are new items added to the website, those updates will be emailed to you automatically shortly after midnight on the day they were posted.

If that’s STILL not quick enough for you, you can also receive RSS updates of new content being added to the site. RSS feeds require a reader or an aggregator. The Firefox browser includes a built in RSS reader, and the forthcoming version of Microsoft Windows, called Vista, also includes Internet Explorer with a built in RSS reader. Until those browsers become more popular, you might want to stick with one of the two email options for receiving updates from the site. You can also skip the email altogether and just visit the site regularly to see what’s new.

If you would like to receive updates from the Central PTA News website automatically, please choose one of the following three options:

The December / January newsletter went out today. If you did not receive a copy in your email, it’s possible something went terribly wrong, or it’s possible we just have the wrong email address for you. Please send an email to chrishajer@gmail.com if you did not receive your newsletter. There were about 15 email addresses that were undeliverable when the newsletter was sent out today: maybe one of the addresses was yours.

An archived copy of the newsletter is available here.

If you have not done so already, you can subscribe to the newsletter right here:

Powered by FeedBlitz

Questions? Just email chrishajer@gmail.com - we’ll get it dialed in.

Cultural Arts CD Materials Now Online

The Central PTA website now includes all the Cultural Arts materials that were previously stored on CDs, plus more! For those of you who are Cultural Arts volunteers, you will no longer have to go to the school to check out the CD; it is now online. The PTA Board would like to extend a “thank you” to REEF (Riverside Elementary Education Foundation), who generously funded the project to digitize the information that was in the paper files.

Having Cultural Arts on the website will allow us to add to the images and information. Slideshows are now a possibility. Cultural Arts will be accessible from any computer with Internet access (which includes all the computers at the school). The possibilities for this project are endless, and we would appreciate suggestions and feedback.

Check out the Cultural Arts materials online today.
